Chennai, Dec. 9 -- Mr Justice GR Swaminathan of Madras High Court Madurai Bench on Tuesdaydirected the Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary N Muruganandam and other officials to appear before the courton December 19 via video conferencing on the deepam lighting row.
The Judge issued the direction while hearing the contempt petition on the deepam row atop theTiruparankundram hills in Madurai,When the government counsel sought postponement of the hearing till the appeal was disposed of, theJudge said he could wait till the next hearing but not after that.
The Court also pointed out that the issue is not only about lighting the deepam but also concernedproperty rights.
