Hyderabad, Oct. 2 -- The deep depression over west-central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal moved north-northwestwards at a speed of 13 kmph and was centered at 0830 hours today near latitude 18.0degN and longitude 85.6degE.
It lay about 160 km south-southeast of Gopalpur, 170 km east of Kalingapatnam (Andhra Pradesh), 200 km south of Puri (Odisha), 250 km east-northeast of Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh), and 280 km south-southwest of Paradip (Odisha).
According to the Meteorological Department, the system is very likely to continue moving north-northwestwards and cross the Odisha and adjoining Andhra Pradesh coasts between Gopalpur and Paradip by the night of October 2.
