Chennai, Nov. 27 -- The Deep Depression over the Bay intensified into Cyclonic Storm "Dithwa" on Thursaday afternoon, as Chennai and Northern districts braces up for heavy to very heavy for the next 2-3 days and the Tamil Nadu government has put all the district administrations on high alert to handle the Cyclone fury.

Met office sources said the Cyclonic storm would towards North Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andhra Pradesh coasts during the next48 hours and cross the coast with the same intensity.

It now lay centred about 700 km south-south east of Chennai.

It would cross the coast between Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh coasts on November 30 morning.
