Lucknow, Sept. 18 -- The Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Urban Livelihood Scheme will be launched as a pilot project in three districts of Uttar Pradesh this month, official sources said today.

Sources said the State Urban Development Agency (SUDA), the nodal agency implementing the scheme, has selected Lucknow, Agra, and Varanasi for the pilot phase. "It will subsequently be expanded to other districts," said a source.

Launched to alleviate poverty and vulnerability among urban poor families, the scheme aims to provide employment opportunities to underprivileged families.
