New Delhi/Shimla, Aug. 4 -- A high-level Congress meeting that convened in Delhi today to resolve the ongoing deadlock over the appointment of a new Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) Chief ended inconclusively.

Despite the presence of senior party leaders including Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, KC Venugopal, and Rajni Patil, no consensus could be reached, deepening the internal rift in the Himachal unit.

According to party insiders, incumbent HPCC Chief Pratibha Singh has expressed her intention to continue, while Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu is pushing for the appointment of Vinod Sultanpuri.
