Johannesburg, Sept. 22 -- South Africa wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock has reversed his decision to retire from One-Day Internationals, returning to the Proteas squad for the upcoming tour of Pakistan.

Regular captain Temba Bavuma will miss the tour due to a left calf grade two strain sustained during the team's England tour. Aiden Markram will lead the Test side, Matthew Breetzke will captain the ODIs, and David Miller will helm the T20I squad.

De Kock, who retired from ODIs after the 2023 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup and had been absent from all formats since the 2024 T20 World Cup, is expected to strengthen South Africa's white-ball lineup ahead of the 2026 T20 World Cup and 2027 ODI World Cup.
