Mumbai, Nov. 22 -- Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde today assured justice and full government support to the family members of 19-year-old college student Arnav Khaire, who allegedly hanged himself at his residence in Kalyan city of neighbouring Thane district after a group of people allegedly assaulted him on a local train following an argument over not speaking in Marathi.
Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction) leader Mahesh Gaikwad said that Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde spoke with the parents of Arnav Khaire and expressed grief over his death and assured that until the linguistic extremists responsible for Arnav's suicide are punished, "we will not remain silent".
