Patna, Sept. 27 -- A Special Vigilance court today sentenced the then Deputy Collector Land Reforms (DCLR) to one year of rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 20,000 for taking a bribe.

Special Vigilance Judge Mohammad Rustam pronounced the judgment after finding Ramesh Prasad Diwakar, then Land Reforms Deputy Collector of Sherghati, guilty under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act. In case of non-payment of the fine, the convict would have to undergo an additional one month of imprisonment.
