Hyderabad, May 9 -- The Drugs Control Administration (DCA), Telangana, on Friday raided an unlicensed clinic operated by a quack in Vavilala village, Jinnaram Mandal, Sangareddy district, and seized medicines worth Rs 10,000 illegally stocked for sale.
Acting on credible information, officials found 25 varieties of drugs, including antibiotics like Cefpodoxime, Amoxicillin, and Metronidazole, as well as expired medicines, all stored without a valid drug license. The clinic was being run by R. Sathyanarayana, an unqualified practitioner, a DCA statement said.
DCA officials warned that the indiscriminate sale of antibiotics by untrained individuals can contribute to antimicrobial resistance and pose a serious threat to public health.
