Keylong, Sept. 3 -- Known for her tough decisions, Deputy Commissioner of Lahaul-Spiti, Kiran Badana, has placed Executive Engineer of the Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board, Vijay Kumar Thakur, under suspension for negligence in duty and alleged misbehaviour with a female officer.
The step comes after the state government invoked the National Disaster Management Act (NDMA) in the flood and landslide hit state, granting District Magistrates extraordinary powers to ensure continuity of essential services. As per NDMA provisions, leave of government employees in essential services has been cancelled.
