Dharamshala, Feb. 24 -- The District Magistrate of Kangra, Hemraj Bairwa, has partially amended earlier orders related to trekking activities under Sections 33 and 34 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, permitting trekking on selected routes during daytime while continuing a complete ban on night trekking.

The decision has been taken to strike a balance between promoting tourism and ensuring public safety.

As per the revised orders, trekking will now be allowed only between sunrise and sunset on the Kareri Lake, Triund, and Adi Himani Chamunda trekking routes.
