Bhubaneswar, March 8 -- Cold, dry and strong wind blowing from the Himalayan region had caused a drop in night temperature in Odisha over the last three days providing a wintry feeling.
But the day temperature is likely to shoot up to 40 degrees Celsius or even more after the next four days, SOA's Centre for Environment and Climate (CEC) said on Saturday.
There could be minor rise in day temperature between March 8 and 11 but incursion of moisture by south-easterly wind from the Bay of Bengal will maintain the comfort level during the period and it might cause 'Kalbaisakhi' on March 9 and 10 at one of two places in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar and Balasore districts, Dr.Sarat Chandra Sahu, Director of CEC, said.
