Prayagraj, Jan. 14 -- Over 60 lakh devotees have taken a holy dip in the Sangam - confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and invisible Saraswati here - on Ekadashi, the eve of Makar Sankranti, Wednesday on the occasion of the Magh Mela.

According to the officials, by 5 PM, 60 lakh devotees had bathed in the Sangam,The shahi snan (royal bathing festival) will begin after midnight and continue for two days.

The fair administration has made extensive arrangements for the Makar Sankranti bathing ritual. The administration claims that approximately 1 to 1.5 crore devotees will take a dip during Makar Sankranti on Thursday.

For this, the fair administration has prepared a 12,000-foot-long bathing ghat.
