Mumbai, Jan. 31 -- A 63-year-old gangster, Prakash Ratilal Hingu, linked to the Dawood Ibrahim-Chhota Shakeel gang, has been arrested after 29 years on the run in connection with a 1996 case.
The arrest was made by Mumbai's NM Joshi Marg police from Hubli, Karnataka, an official said on Friday.
In 1996, a violent clash erupted inside Arthur Road Jail, Mumbai, between members of Dawood gang and his rival Chhota Rajan's gang, who were in judicial custody at the time.
Both the gangs attempted to eliminate each other, leading to the registration of a case at N.M. Joshi Marg Police Station under IPC Sections 143, 147, 148, 149, 324, and 307.
