Bengaluru, Aug. 28 -- Mysuru royal family scion and BJP MP Yaduveer Wadiyar today objected to the Karnataka government's practice of projecting Mysuru Dasara merely as a "Nada Habba" (state festival), contending that such terminology dilutes the intrinsic religious and cultural essence of the celebration.

Wadiyar recalled that Dasara has historically been a dharmic festival, deeply rooted in the spiritual traditions of Navratri. He said that while successive governments since the abolition of princely rule have described the festival as Nada Habba and taken over its public organisation for the past four to five decades, that does not alter its true character.
