Saharanpur (UP), April 3 -- After the passage of the Waqf (Amendment) Bill in the Lok Sabha and the debate in the Rajya Sabha, Muslim organisations and Ulemas of both Deobandi and Barelvi sects have strongly objected to it on Thursday.
On behalf of Darul Uloom, its Chancellor (Mohtamim) Mufti Abul Qasim Nomani Banarasi said that if the Waqf Bill becomes a law, it will be a black chapter in history. He said that Muslims will not accept this law.
He said, "This is a direct interference in the religious matters of Muslims, which has caused deep resentment among the Muslims of the country."
