Tirumala, Sept. 8 -- Devotees were allowed Darshan at the Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple (Srivari temple) from 6am today after the temple remained closed for nearly 12 hours due to the lunar eclipse.
As per tradition, the temple doors were shut at 3.30pm yesterday, ahead of the eclipse that lasted from 9:50p.m to 1:31am. The temple was reopened at 3am today, and after purification rituals, including Punyahavachanam and other Kaikaryams, devotees were permitted to have Darshan, a Tirumala-Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) statement said.
