Rae Bareli, Oct. 6 -- A 28-year-old Dalit man, Hariom Paswan, was brutally beaten to death on October 3 in Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh.
The incident has sparked widespread outrage after disturbing videos emerged, showing the victim being thrashed mercilessly by a mob while allegedly being called a "drone thief."In one of the videos, Hariom can be heard taking Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's name, following which the mob reportedly intensified the assault, shouting, "We are Baba's people", a reference believed to be linked to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
