Dharamshala, Sept. 2 -- Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, returned to his permanent residence here on Tuesday afternoon after a six-week stay in Ladakh and a brief five-day visit to Delhi.
Despite heavy rainfall and rough weather, the 90-year-old Nobel laureate was given a grand welcome by thousands of Tibetans, devotees, and well-wishers who gathered at Gaggal Airport and later near his official residence at McLeodganj.
Senior leaders of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) and other officials were also present to receive him.
During his stay in Ladakh, the Dalai Lama delivered several teachings that drew large gatherings of devotees.
