Eluru, Aug. 19 -- The daily wage workers of Sand ramps staged a dharna in front of the Mandal Tahsildar office in Tadepalligudem town on Monday demanding the Andhra Pradesh Government to open the Sand reaches immediately to improve the supply of sand in West Godavari district.
The workers led by Tadepalligudem region Mason, Carpentry, Centring, Rod bending workers Union rallied to Mandal Tahsildar office in the morning and staged a dharna at the office.
Addressing the workers, All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) Tadepalligudem Area President D Somasundar said that due to the scarcity of the sand, the building construction workers have lost their livelihoods.
