Chennai, Oct. 3 -- The Met office today announced that yesterday's Depressionover Northeast Arabian Sea has intensified into Cyclonic storm 'Shakhti" and it wouldinensify further as a Severe Cyclonic storm.
A special bullet in from Met office said the depression moved nearly westwards andintensified into a Deep Depression.
It lay centered at 2330 hrs last night over the same region. It moved northwestwardsand lay over the same region at 0830 hrs today and then intensified into CyclonicStorm 'Shakhti' (pronounced as "Shakhti") and lay centered at 1130 hrs today, overthe same region, about 250 km west-southwest of Dwarka, 270 km southwest ofNaliya, 300 km west of Porbandar and 360 km south of Karachi (Pakistan).
