Chennai, Oct. 28 -- The Cyclonic Storm "Montha" toeay intensified into asevere Cyclonic storm and it is expected to cross the Andhra Pradesh by thisevening or tonight, even as Chennai City and nrighbouring districts were lashedby rains for the second consecutie day.
In a bulletin, the Met office said the Cyclonic storm over westcentral Bay ofBengal moved north-northwestwards with a speed of 15 kmph during the pastsix hours, intensified into a severe cyclonic storm and lay centered at 0530 hrsof today, over the same region, about 190 km south-southeast of Machilipatnam(Andhra Pradesh), 270 km south-southeast of Kakinada (Andhra Pradesh),340 km south-southwest of Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh), 550 km south-southwest of Gopalpur (Odisha).
