Bokaro, Dec. 19 -- Cyber criminals have allegedly cheated a B.Tech-qualified woman IT engineer of Rs 9.40 lakh in Bokaro district by luring her with fake share trading schemes.
The incident occurred under the Harla police station area.
Police said the victim, a resident of Sector-9, fell into the trap of cyber fraudsters despite having technical knowledge.
According to the police, between November 6 and 18, the woman was added to an investment group through WhatsApp and Telegram. In the group, fraudsters shared fake share trading tips along with manipulated screenshots showing high profits to gain her confidence.
