Hyderabad, April 9 -- The Cyber Crime Police of Hyderabad have arrested a person in connection with a digital arrest fraud case.

Police seized one mobile phone and an IDBI Bank cheque book from him.

Based on a complaint, the accused Ranjit Kumar (42) was arrested in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. Ranjit Kumar, a software employee residing in Abhay Khand 1, Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, hails from Parigami village in Sitamarhi district of Bihar, a police statement said on Wednesday.

He is alleged to have supplied and operated bank accounts used in fraudulent transactions. The accused is reportedly involved in four similar cases across India, including two in Telangana.
