Bhubaneswar, Dec. 8 -- Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi informed the State Assembly on Monday that 3,486 cyber crime cases were registered in the state over the past 16 months.
Responding to a question raised by Congress MLA Ramchandra Kadam, the Chief Minister said that 69 cases of digital arrest were reported during the same period.
Police, he said have arrested 727 accused involved in cyber-related offences, and charge sheets have been filed in 104 cases.
Majhi stated that cybercrime victims in Odisha collectively lost Rs 222,09,78,647.Of this, a total of Rs 61,36,381 has been refunded to victims' accounts.
Additionally, the government has frozen bank accounts worth Rs 6,74,09,434 as part of ongoing investigations.
