Jaipur, March 20 -- Rajasthan Royals (RR) have suffered a major setback ahead of the start of IPL 2026 as Sam Curran is expected to be ruled out of the entire IPL season due to a suspected groin injury.

The England all rounder Curran last played a match on March 5, 2026 against India in the semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2026, in which England lost.

In November 2025, RR acquired Curran from CSK, and he was set to play for the franchise for the first time. RR acquired Ravindra Jadeja and Curran from CSK in exchange for wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson.
