Bangkok, Jan. 12 -- Thailand's military announced on Monday the immediate lifting of the curfew imposed in the southern province of Narathiwat.
In an official announcement, the Narathiwat Task Force stated that the curfew was being lifted as the local security situation had been brought under control.
The move is aimed at easing inconveniences to people's daily lives and boosting the region's economic and tourism development.
Anutin Charnvirakul, the Thai caretaker prime minister, told the media in an interview on Sunday that the earlier explosions in multiple areas of Thailand's southern border regions were an attempt to disrupt the upcoming election.
