Srinagar, Sept. 30 -- Authorities today relaxed curfew in Leh for the second time in a week, days after violent clashes there left four people dead on September 24.

The curfew was eased today from 10 am to 5 pm and later extended till 6 pm. Officials said the situation remained peaceful during the relaxation period as shops opened and people thronged markets to purchase essentials. Senior officers were on the ground to monitor the situation.

Mobile internet services, however, continued to remain suspended in the district. The Ministry of Home Affairs has ordered a complete shutdown of mobile internet in Leh till October 3, citing public safety and security concerns.
