Lucknow, Feb. 5 -- Uttar Pradesh Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh on Thursday said that Lord Mahavir's Sarvodaya philosophy offers a practical guide to compassionate and harmonious living in today's times.

He said that preserving India's spiritual and cultural heritage remains a key focus of the Uttar Pradesh government, with sustained efforts being made to protect and promote Jain religious and cultural sites across the state.

The minister conveyed this while attending the foundation day programme of Jain Vidya Research Institute, Lucknow today.

Chairing the event, institute vice chairman Prof Abhay Kumar Jain spoke about the organisation's work in taking the message of ahimsa and anekant beyond academic spaces.
