Ranchi, Aug. 2 -- On a high-altitude trail leading to the thousand-year-old Karsha monastery in Zanskar, scientists from the Central University of Jharkhand (CUJ) stood shoulder to shoulder with Ladakhi monks. A traditional khata scarf draped around their shoulders, the researchers quietly installed a weather monitoring station just outside the monastery walls.

This convergence of geoinformatics and Buddhist monastic life marks the beginning of a project that blends tradition with modern scientific practice to protect important spiritual and cultural sites in Ladakh.
