Ranchi, Dec. 20 -- Pratibha Warwade, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Central University of Jharkhand (CUJ), along with her research team, has been granted a patent for an IoT-enabled soil moisture monitoring device designed for smart irrigation systems.
The patented device enables real-time monitoring of soil moisture and environmental data to automate drip irrigation, reducing manual labour and improving water-use efficiency for large-scale vegetable and horticulture crops. Warwade said the low-cost device is significantly more affordable than existing market options and offers scientifically accurate irrigation management for farmers.
