Ranchi, Aug. 9 -- On World Tribal Day, the Central University of Jharkhand (CUJ) today hosted a special lecture on "Indigenous Peoples and AI: Defending Rights, Shaping Futures," highlighting how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can help safeguard intangible aspects of tribal culture.

Delivering the keynote address, Tolhishel Khaling from Scotland said that while government initiatives like the Dharti Aba Janbhagidari Abhiyan focus on tangible aspects of culture, there is a pressing need to work on intangible heritage such as folk tales, songs and oral traditions.

Citing the example of the film Frozen II, based on a Sami community folktale, he underlined how storytelling can keep indigenous identity alive.
