Buenos Aires, Nov. 1 -- A second-half strike from Alexis Cuello gave San Lorenzo a 1-0 home win over Deportivo Riestra in Argentina's Primera Division.

Yesterday, Cuello broke the deadlock in the 51st minute by controlling Agustin Ladstatter's headed pass with his right foot, swiveling and in the same motion lashing a left-footed volley past goalkeeper Ignacio Arce.

The visitors went close to equalizing but could not find a way past Orlando Gill, who made five saves for the match.

The result leaves San Lorenzo fifth in Group B with 22 points, eight behind leaders Rosario Central. Deportivo Riestra is second in the 15-team group with 27 points.
