Rio De Janeiro, May 8 -- A spectacular second-half strike from Lautaro Diaz earned Brazil's Cruzeiro a 1-1 away draw with Ecuadorian side Mushuc Runa in the Copa Sudamericana group stage.

Carlos Orejuela capitalized on chaotic defending as he poked home a shot from eight yards, before Diaz sent a brilliant volley from the edge of the 18-yard box past goalkeeper Cassio on Wednesday.

Mushuc Runa now leads Group E with 10 points, one ahead of second-placed Palestino. Cruzeiro is last with just one point from four outings so far.

In Venezuela, Junior Paredes scored twice as Puerto Cabello routed Brazil's Vasco da Gama 4-1.
