Ranchi, May 3 -- Representatives of the Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce on Sunday met state Finance Minister Radha Krishna Kishore over the impact of distance norms on mining leases and crusher units.

The delegation said recent developments linked to a pending Public Interest Litigation in the Jharkhand High Court have affected operations of several units.

Chamber president Aditya Malhotra said, "The current norms have severely impacted the functioning of crusher units and mining leases."According to the delegation, the requirement of maintaining 400 metre and 500 metre distance limits has disrupted operations of a majority of crusher units, affecting thousands of workers.
