Chandigarh, April 1 -- A low-intensity explosion outside the Punjab BJP headquarters in Sector 37 triggered a major security alert in the city on Wednesday. The blast occurred in a scooter parked outside the office premises, reportedly belonging to an employee.

The impact was powerful enough to shatter the windows of nearby vehicles and left approximately 70 to 80 shrapnel marks on the boundary walls of the party office.

Chandigarh Police, along with forensic experts and teams from the National Investigation Agency (NIA), rushed to the spot to cordoned off the area and initiate a high-level probe.
