Ranchi, Oct. 11 -- CRPF head constable Mahendra Laskar, who was critically injured in an IED blast triggered by Naxalites in the dense Saranda forest of West Singhbhum district, succumbed to injuries today.
The martyr, a resident of Nagaon district in Assam, was part of the CRPF's 60th Battalion deployed in anti-Naxal operations in the region. He was injured yesterday evening.
His mortal remains will be brought to Ranchi, where post-mortem formalities will be conducted, followed by a ceremonial tribute at the CRPF camp.
