Mumbai, Oct. 2 -- Thousands gathered at Shivaji Park in Dadar West near the sea face to attend the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena's Dussehra rally at 5 pm today.

Seating arrangements had been made, according to Sena leaders at the venue.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's faction of the Shiv Sena announced it would hold its own Dussehra event at the NESCO Bombay Exhibition Centre in Goregaon East at 6 pm the same day.

Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena is continuing its long-standing tradition, following in the footsteps of the late Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray, who began holding the annual 'Dussehra Melava' from 1966 onwards.

A large stage was set up for the gathering, with chairs arranged throughout the ground.
