Kampala, Oct. 21 -- Host Uganda opened the 2025 Victoria Series campaign on a winning note by beating Canada by seven wickets on Monday.

The visitors elected to bat first but were 67 all out in 19 overs at the Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala.

Powered by a disciplined bowling performance from Kevin Amuge and a composed chase led by team captain Janet Mbabazi, Uganda put on 68/3 in 11.5 overs.

Canada's Achini Perera and Amarpal Kaur made 13 and 18 runs respectively, in a game that Uganda kept very tight.

Amuge was the standout performer with the ball, finishing with 4/17in four overs. She received solid support from Immaculate Nakisuyi, who claimed 2/13 in her full quota.
