Mahabubnagar, June 26 -- One of the crest gates at the Priyadarshini Jurala Project reported operational issues due to damage of cable here on Thursday, even as Krishna river inflows touched 53,000 cusecs following the heavy rains in the catchment area. Out of the 62 crest gates, crest gate no.9 failed to open after its two rope cables were damaged, according to officials here. A technical team was rushed to the site to rectify the issue. Meanwhile, main opposition Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) alleged that the breaking of the rope at gate No.9 in the Jurala Project is a clear indication of the negligence of the ruling Congress government.
