Shimla, Dec. 24 -- The issue surrounding the alleged construction of a cremation ground close to a school campus in Chamba district has reached the High Court, which has ordered a detailed fact-finding exercise rather than issuing immediate directions on the merits of the case.
The matter was heard by Justice Ajay Mohan Goel on a writ petition filed by Dayanand Math and another petitioner.
The petition challenges the legality of the ongoing construction of a crematorium, alleging that it is being built barely 50 metres from a school and without obtaining the mandatory statutory permissions, allegedly on government land.
