Darjeeling, May 19 -- Darjeeling MP Raju Bista on Monday said he has sought an immediate intervention of Union Transport & Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari over reported cracks that have appeared at the newly constructed Loop Bridge on National Highway 717A, commonly known as Selroti Bridge or Snake Bridge, near Bagrakote in Kalimpong district.
"According to multiple local news reports, cracks have appeared on both the surface and base of the bridge, accompanied by signs of land sinking in the vicinity," Bista said in his letter to Gadkari on Sunday.
