Chennai/New Delhi, Dec. 15 -- Launching a major crackdown on Cycbecrimeinfrastructure under Operation Chakra-V, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI)dismantled a phishing SMS factory in NCR/Chandigarh area and arrested threeaccused today.
After conducting raids at several locations in Delhi, Noida and Chandigarh, the CBIarrested Sonveer Singh, Maneesh Upreti and Himalaya, a CBI statement here said.
The CBI has uncovered and disrupted a large cyber fraud setup that was being usedto send phishing messages across the country.
These messages were tricking people into various cyber frauds such as fake digitalarrests, loan scams, and investment frauds.
