Hyderabad, Dec. 26 -- : The Communist Party of India (CPI) Telangana State Secretary and MLA Koonamneni Sambasiva Rao on Friday announced that the party will organise a grand public meeting in Khammam on January 18 as part of its centenary celebrations.

Addressing the media at the CPI State office at Makhdoom Bhavan here, Koonamneni said the meeting would be unprecedented in scale and aimed at reaffirming the continued relevance of communist ideology.

He said the party has set a target of mobilising around five lakh people, describing the proposed gathering as a "Red Sea" to send a strong message to those questioning the existence of communists.
