Patna, July 21 -- The Communist Party of India (CPI), a strong constituent of the INDIA Alliance, has staked claim to 24 seats in the upcoming Assembly elections in Bihar.

In the 2020 assembly elections, the party had fielded candidates on six seats. Only two of them won the polls.

Addressing the media in here today, CPI State Secretary Ram Naresh Pandey said that the party has submitted a list of 24 seats to INDIA Alliance Convenor Tejashwi Yadav.

The left leader said that the party has a strong presence across the state and its team of over 83,000 dedicated workers has the potential to transfer its votes to the alliance partners in all 243 Assembly constituencies in Bihar. Thus, the party deserves a reasonable number of seats.
