Hyderabad, March 13 -- The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has urged the Telangana government to provide job opportunities to the descendants of Village Revenue Assistants (VRAs) above 61 years of age in the Village Level Officer (VLO) posts currently being recruited at the field level.

In a statement on Thursday, CPI(M) Telangana State Secretary John Wesley welcomed the Telangana State Cabinet's decision to appoint 10,950 VLOs to strengthen the village revenue system and called for its swift implementation.

He emphasised the need to accommodate VRA descendants above 61 years of age, who have been serving the government and the public for generations with minimal wages.
