Thiruvananthapuram, Dec. 22 -- Former Kerala BJP president Kummanam Rajasekharan alleged on Monday that the CPI(M)-led government had planned a massive land grab under the guise of constructing a proposed Sabarimala airport, accusing it of attempting to commercially exploit the faith and sentiments of devotees.
Talking to newspersons here, Rajasekharan said the government's move was aimed at converting Sabarimala into a commercial centre rather than pursuing genuine development.
He alleged that the airport proposal was used to mislead the public and facilitate the acquisition of vast tracts of land for profiteering by real estate interests.
