Jaipur, Sept. 30 -- Senior CPI(M) leader and sitting Sikar MP Amararam was denied permission to meet climate activist Sonam Wangchuk in Jodhpur Jail today.

Ram, a CPI(M) politburo member, reached Jodhpur along with two-three party colleagues to meet Wangchuk, who has been lodged in the high-security jail for the past four days.

Upon reaching the jail, the MP and other communist leaders were denied entry on the pretext of today being a gazetted holiday.

Unhappy with the refusal, they raised slogans and pressed for permission to meet the activist.

Later, the MP agreed to convey his and the party's support and solidarity with Wangchuk and his movement in Leh by sending a letter of support to him.
