Hyderabad, Feb. 25 -- Senior Communist Party of India (CPI) leader and freedom fighter Comrade R Nallakannu passed away on Wednesday at the Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital in Chennai.
In a statement, CPI National Secretary Dr K Narayana described the passing of veteran communist leader as an irreparable loss to the Communist Party and the people of Tamil Nadu.
Born in 1925, Comrade Nallakannu was inspired by the ideals of Marx and Lenin and devoted his life to fighting class and caste discrimination and championing public causes.
