Hanamkonda, April 24 -- Takkallapalli Srinivasa Rao, CPI State Assistant Secretary, on Friday demanded that the government immediately resolve the RTC workers' demands and abandon what he termed its "stubborn stance" on the ongoing strike.
Addressing a massive 'Rasta Roko' protest organised by the CPI at Kaloji Centre in Hanamkonda, he urged Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to personally intervene and bring an end to the crisis.
He also demanded an ex-gratia of Rs 1 crore for the family of deceased RTC driver Shankar Goud.
Srinivasa Rao reiterated that the government must fulfil its election promise of merging RTC employees into government service, implement pending wage revisions, fill vacant posts, and ensure workers' welfare.
